about The Midnight MUG

Yes, the line sucks and moves SO slowly, but I actually use that to my advantage: If I'm up on the fourth floor writing a paper, I know that going to Midnight MUG for a coffee or hot chocolate will actually buy me 20 minutes of procrastination. I'll also inevitably run into someone working on the same paper I am, which is always fun. One complaint: I know that no one wants to work on Saturday nights, but having to be in the library on Saturday night would be miserable enough even if I COULD have my hot chocolate.

I make it a point to frequent the library as little as possible, so I don't have much opportunity to visit here. Each time I've tried, the line has been horrendous or it's been closed. I ate there for the first time today after waiting ten minutes for an iced coffee and toasted bagel. You're much better off at UG.

My rating is alone based on the fact that THEY SELL FRESCA.

INCREDIBLY slow service... I actually checked last week and it took ten minutes to recieve my drink AFTER I placed the order when there was no line. Go during a rush when the line is out the door and you could make it to Saxby's and back twice in the time it takes Midnight MUG to serve you. Sure, it's a good hangout spot, but the coffee is nothing to be desired and the wait/service is absolutely ridiculous.

You can't beat the "we're all slaving away in the library together" companionship, but the specialty drinks always disappoint me, despite their clever names. The chai is reliably good, and the plain coffee or cafe au lait provides a cheap caffeine fix. I wish they accepted credit/debit cards in addition to GOcards and cash.

Who does not know about the Midnight MUG... A stop at the Library=a Stop at MMUG. Great variety and great atmosphere no matter if it is your socializing station or your coffee station it has a great location and great service.
Great menu and good prices plus you get to spend all those extra Flex Dollars.
Best drink in town has to be Don Quixote but to each his/her own.

Midnight MUG is AWESOME! It means something different for everyone.

For some, it's a spot for caffeine during those 3 am study sessions.
For some, it's a low-key first date, complete with comfy couches and background music.
For some, it's just a place to chill with friends and grab coffee or a bite to eat.
For some, it means dealing with the horrendous and painful lines all the way out the door.

For me, it's all of the above. It's a Georgetown tradition for me. And the staff is great. Be sure to holla at my roomie and homeboi Adam Alfi when you're in there.

My favorite charming on campus coffee spot.
Drinks are named after literature in some way - the Don Quijote is my favorite drink.
To give you more idea, a special drink they had one time was the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde which was a 1/2 vanilla 1/2 straight chocolate mocha type drink. Yum.

Great for late nights in club lau studying although it gets crowded around midnight and other key hours when everyone else needs a bit of a pick up too.
