Saxbys' early hours make it especially convenient for my pre-clinical caffeine fix. The staff is always fast and friendly and have a knack for memorizing the names and orders of the regulars.

Great little place to get some reliably good coffee and breakfast foods. Delicious muffins.

Great coffee; they have all the standard drinks as well as many good specialty drinks. It has a very nice ambiance as well, but can be a bit pricy.

So convenient for picking up something to keep you awake on your way to class in Walsh. I'm a fan of the Cafe Vienna (vanilla and cinnamon I believe) with an extra shot. The variety of specialty lattes is really fun. I also like the almond joy (chocolate, coconut, and almond) and the amarillo (amaretto flavor), and the chai tea is really good. Saxby's really does help me get more out of my classes, which makes it like an investment in my education... :) It's a bit pricey, comparable to Starbucks, which I tend to think of as the gold standard. I love running into people I know in Saxby's though, and the staff is always friendly. It really has a great neighborhood coffee house vibe to it.

Close to campus, good coffee, good baked goods, and great hot cider. Worth the trip (2 blocks) off campus if you want some variety from MUG and Uncommon Grounds

I've been to Saxby's many times, but it's mostly because of the location and not because of the quality of the drinks. Their drinks aren't bad, but they aren't exceptional either. Their chai lattes, for example, are really powdery when ordered hot and rather bland when iced. Also, I'm lactose intolerant and while they do offer soymilk, most of their drinks have lactose in some form (i.e. powder), which I'm definitely not a fan of. However, Saxby's is a nice place with friendly people behind the counter, and the free wireless is a definite plus.

I always feel pretty cramped in Saxby's, but the staff is friendly (mostly students) and the coffee is good. And it's not Starbucks... always a plus. Try the frolatte (and try to say it without being embarrassed).

The coffee here is pretty much the same as you would get at any on campus coffee shop but Saxby's has a much better selection of the specialty drinks and food. Also has a great set up with the big screen tv and many seating areas and big windows overlooking O and 35th Streets.

Overall a great coffee shop and a cool place to hang out just off the Georgetown campus.

A good choice if you live in West Georgetown and don't want to walk to UG, but kinda pricey. Although they do have an amazing variety of flavors to add to your cup of Joe.

The fact that a Facebook Group exists entitled "When I go Home, I Miss Saxby's More than my Friends" exists should say a lot. I've always been a fan of Dunkin' Donuts coffee at home, but this beats it hands down.

Chai tea lattes. Enough said.

Saxbys...
A convenient alternative to the on campus coffee shops.

I like Saxbys, but it hasn't ever really impressed me. The espresso is nice. The drip coffee is average with limited selection. Their baked goods are just what one would expect.

When coffee shops are as common as noses and product quality is usually comparable, the ambiance is the only thing that can set a one apart from another. This is where Saxby's loses stars in my book - the service is always good, but I find the atmosphere lacking. When it comes to this essential ingredient I'll take Midnight Mug over Saxby's any day.

One of my favorite DC coffee houses, and it's just two blocks off campus. Plenty of seating (check out the back room) and a nice place to take the laptop or meet up with a friend. A little pricey, though, but worth it for those who crave a better brew.

Good location, good coffee. I particularly like their flavored coffees (no syrups). Hazelnut is awesome.
