Anthropologie was founded in 1992 by a small group of people with a love for making things that inspire the imagination. To our delight, over the past decade we have traveled the globe, broken new ground with our catalog and web design, and most significantly of all, found customers who are our soulmates on this wondrous journey.

We carefully design and select our products with an eye for craftsmanship, the smallest details, and that certain something special that makes each item you find in our stores and website more than novelty but a personal discovery.

Our clothing, jewelry, and objects for home are always changing. So is our world. Our hope at Anthropologie is to share with you in the breathtaking possibility of it all.

THIS PLACE HAS THE COOLEST DECORATIONS EVER.

The clothes are beautiful on the manikins, but I can never quite make them work on me. Maybe that's my fault. I feel like you really need to buy the whole outfit to complete the looks they create. My favorite items are the dresses, though. Really really pretty.

Actually, my favorite thing to use Anthropologie for is little gifts for friends. They have pretty, and reasonably priced, mugs, plates, cups, knickknacks etc. that really make great gifts. Check it out.

My favorite clothing store on M Street. Maybe a bit pricey, but the clothes are exquisite. Great quality and beautiful embroidery. They sell home accessories and books, too. Wall decorations, linens, ceramic cups/plates/bowls, children's books and stuffed animals - everything is cute yet classy, and very feminine and elegant. Look in the sale/clearance area for good deals. Certainly a place to consider if you're looking for a gift.
