Alamo Grill of Georgetown

Totally decent tex mex. You can rent out the top floor for birthdays or big groups which is a lot of fun too. The margaritas are a little overpriced, but overall it's probably worth going.

First off, it's way over priced. You can get much better authentic Mexican food for half the price at any hole-in-the-wall family-owned taqueria. The food really wasn't anything to write home about. I had a steak taco and there was just no flavor in the meat except for that fake smoke flavor that they add to make you think it was grilled. On top of that I agree with Ashley, the service was awful. I asked the waiter what came on my taco. He told me beef. I asked, "what about like lettuce or something." He replies,"yes, lettuce." I say, "anything else?" Response: "no." It comes back with not only lettuce and meat but cheese and tomatoes as well (fortunately I'm not lactose intolerant). That's just one example of the kind of service I got there. Needless to say I won't be returning.

The food was great (a bit pricey, but big portions of really good tex-mex food), but the service was awful. I went with a group of 15 or so people to celebrate a birthday (admittedly a waiter's nightmare). When we requested more chips, the server mockingly brought two baskets and set them right in front of the girl who had made the request. A little later, when someone else in our group requested more salsa, the waiter brought two bowls of it and set them right in front of her. It was just rude. I'm looking forward to trying the late-night/early-morning breakfast (served 3am-6am maybe?) after going out, but I hope I get a nicer waiter.
